Dance Tribe is 'guided' by a committee of dance tribe members called 'the Elders."
The Elders meet when needed and any member of Dance Tribe can come to a meeting and become an Elder.

Elders present: Carolyn, Betsy, Laurie, Kevin, Ned and Mark
1. Treasurer’s Report: ( Mark) Checkbook balance $460.86
All agreed that at this time there is no need to increase the weekly donation to $3.
Unanimously agreed to leave it at $2 per week. Also unanimously agreed to begin a self monitoring checklist for the $20 yearly dues. There will be a list posted starting in September.
2. September 10th is Zenne’s last tribe before going to New Mexico for at least 6 months. Thomas will be doing music that tribe.
3. Carolyn suggested getting a new CD player. It was unanimously agreed that she will research this.
4. Dance-Drum Friday will start up in October with Jim Brown the point person. It will still be the first Friday of the month.
5. Our website www.vermontdancetribeorg will go forward with Mark as the webguy. Anyone who wants to learn how to access the site and do postings please contact him at whirlingdervish49@yahoo.com or call 872 2641.
6. Spring of 2000 was the start of Tribe and our 10th anniversary is coming up.
7. Discussed how to encourage new DJs~collaberation with another experienced DJ?
8. Discussed welcoming new participants and the sensitivity of Contact Improvisation for those not familiar with this form. Suggestions and reminders: reach out and check in to new people. We plan to have handouts about Contact and 5 Rhythms. Carolyn will check for previous documents.
9. Discussed our ‘Mission statement” (bullet points) 5 Rhythms, respectful, playful, and substance free.
10. Carolyn suggested we get a Facebook page as another way to reach people. The busy Carolyn is going to check this out.
11. Meeting was adjourned and the serious business of visiting and eating commenced.
